The St. Agnes Catholic School’s Athletic Program is an integral part of the education curriculum, and, as such, it provides opportunities for instruction, participation, and growth. Our athletic program strives to promote a Catholic atmosphere where our athletes promote the ideals of good character: teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, hard work, self-discipline, responsibility, and respect. Athletic activities are a significant and valuable community effort, which foster loyalty, promote school spirit and student participation, and develop healthy competition and sportsmanship. Goals of the athletic program need to be meaningful to all the members of the St. Agnes community. This program is available to all students in the 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. At the 5th & 6th grade level, the focus is on learning the athletic skill and game rules, fundamentals of team play, emotional growth, and healthy competition. At the 7th & 8th grade level, there is an increased emphasis placed on physical conditioning, refinement of fundamental skills, elements and strategies of team play in addition to emotional development, game knowledge, and rules. Parents and teachers volunteer to coach all of our teams. Ninety percent of our 5th-8th Grade students participate in one of our athletic programs.
